erasers and blending tools

ERASER'S
Erasing is not only used for getting rid of unwanted marks on your paper. It is also a valuable tool for creating textural effects.
you can use three kinds of erasers.
  • Eraser pen-this can be used to make thin, white lines in areas that have already been covered with graphite, charcoal or carbon. its like drawing with white.this type of eraser erases more completely than a kneaded eraser.and doesn't leave as much eraser residue as a typewriter eraser.

  • Typewriter eraser-this kind of eraser can be sharpened like a pencil. it is quite abrasive and capable of digging back down to the white of the paper through dark values.this also means it can damage your paper if you don''t be careful.if you need a sharp edge use razor blade to cut off the end of the eraser.

  • Kneaded eraser-This is a soft, pliable eraser that can be molded into any shape you need. Dabbing with a kneaded eraser leave no eraser residue.
  1.  Lifts charcoal or graphite in shadow areas to indicate reflected light.
  2. Removes smudges in highlights for the final cleanup for a drawing.
  3. Creates unique textures by rolling or stroking in blended charcole.
  4. Cleans excess media from the ends the other two erasers.

pencils are important.

OK the first topic of today is pencils.
these tips and tricks are from j.d hillberry's books...and he is my inspiration.
as u know, most important thing the artist should have is a pencil and a paper.
and all it takes to draw is a pencil and a paper. if you have many drawing materials then u can explore many art techniques.
many artists discover there techniques  by using variety of pencils.

By taking advantages of the inherent qualities found in three basic pencils, you will automatically increase the range of values that  are possible and add more texture to your drawings.

THE THREE TYPES OF PENCILS ARE.
1. Graphite pencils
  • Artist-grade graphite pencils are more refined then your normal pencils, allowing for smoother lines on the paper. these pencils come in a wide range of hardness and softness.
  • Pencils with letter b are the softest. the higher the number in front of  b the softer the pencil
  • The softest graphite pencil available is 9b, which produces the darkest line.
  • Harder pencils make lighter lines and are noted with the letter H, with H being the hardest.
  • Hard pencils are best for fine detailed work because they hold a sharp point better.
  • A pencil with the letter f has a degree of hardness halfway between the h and b.
  • There are many other brands of graphite pencils.
2. Charcoal pencils
  • These pencils combine the blackness of charcoal with the smoothness of the graphite.
  • They are available in degrees of  hardness ranging from HB to 3B
  • All charcoal pencils smudge easily.
3. Carbon pencils
  • Two types of carbon pencils, wolff's and conte carbon.
  •  They both come in several degrees of hardness and, like other pencils, are labels with the letters H and B.
  • When carbon pencils are used in combination with other media, there inherent characteristics make them ideal for separating subjects containing similar values.
other materials are

graphite sticks
  • Graphite sticks simply contain the graphite in a block shape.
  • This allows you to use the broad edge to lay in large areas of tone.
  • They are usually available only in the softer b range of graphite.
charcoal sticks
  • It comes in a variety of sizes with densities of hard, medium   and soft.
  • Charcoal is easy to blend into a rich velvety tone.
  • It can produce rich black tones.
  • But its difficult to erase and blend.
THESE ARE THE TYPE OF PENCILS AND STICKS.

let's start this fresh and clear.

There are many readers out there who want to learn art, and cant find a good collage or a good book,to refer from. So what i will be doing is, i will give all the information i can give..to let u know everything about art....for beginners.
Hear me out,"for practicing art you don't need any teachers, you are your own teacher" u just have to look deep into you. and practice very hard. sketches are most important. sketch daily, sketch like five to ten pages a day.

Only one thing going on my mind for the past six to seven hours. The Leonardo DiCaprio movie "wolf of wall streets".
Apart from the humor apart from every thing else, He made people achieve there dreams. One thing i like too much in that movie. i like the way he narrates his ideas. and the way he explained them would change the person standing next to him completely.

"AND FRIENDS I AM TELLING THE SAME THING NOW"

"U see these brushes they don't paint by them self ,they need an artist.young artists like us to control them".
Do you dream of being a true artist??-pick up the brush and start painting.
U want to be an inspiration to people??-pick up the brush and start painting.
U want be famous??-pick up the brush and start painting.
U can do it. don't be afraid of what people might say about your work just keep it going.

"YOU ARE NEVER TOO YOUNG TO DREAM BIG"

I would like to say, you know world is moving so fast day by day, and now a days young artists are so enthusiastic. we want to learn more and more about art we try again and again if we suck at that. we keep on practicing our only determination would be just stick to that work until its completed. why do we choose art because art(whatever art it maybe) it shows the real us. the real yourself who you are.
we just let the emotions flow on the art you will be doing. just think if you are angry your brush strokes changes(hard brush strokes) when you are happy (soft brush strokes). every thing changes the medium of the color, the edges will be rough and uneven. that's why young artists like us want to do artworks more often in our style. we just use references to learn how to make our style.
These are some works by (nagraj moger a exceptional young artist from mangalore) his art inspires people.I hope it inspires you.
